PRE-EMPLOYMENT SCREENING
Why we undertake pre-employment screening
Thank you for your interest in working at Housing Australia.
Housing Australia is an agile, high-performance organisation, operating in a dynamic and complex environment. Our values of trust, integrity, respect, and excellence in all that we do are reflected in our ‘one-team’ culture. Pre-employment screening is an important first step in upholding these values, as well as ensuring you are working with qualified, experienced colleagues who value working in an ethical environment. These checks also form part of our compliance obligations under Anti-Money Laundering legislation.
What is pre-employment screening?
Pre employment screening verifies the information that you provide to us in your employment application, and includes your employment and educational history, your entitlement to work in Australia, your criminal record and your credit status.

Our background check process complies with Australia’s Privacy laws and is facilitated on our behalf by Precise Background Services Pty Ltd (Precise). Securing your personal information
Precise collects, uses, retains and discloses information according to the Australian Privacy Principles and has a range of measures to protect the personal information you provide for pre-employment screening purposes. For more information, see Precise's Privacy Policy available on their website https://www.precisebackground.com/
How will my results be used?
The information gathered in this process is used only for the purpose of evaluating your candidacy for employment. These results are just one component of your application, and we consider them in conjunction with all other aspects of your application. Adverse findings will be considered if they are relevant to your job.
As an equal opportunity employer, we are committed to ensuring that applicants and employees are not discriminated against in line with equal opportunity employment legislation.
