Application Disclosure

 

As part of the application process there are a few questions we require you to answer. All questions asked are relevant to the role as well as our legal and client obligations. Before continuing with your application we ask that you read and consent to the following.

Our organisation is committed to providing a safe working environment. As part of this commitment we need to ensure that employees meet the inherent requirements of their role and are not required to perform duties that they may not be able to perform safely.

We advise that failure to disclose any and all relevant physical, medical or any other illness, injury or condition, or any past or pre-existing illness, injury or condition suffered by you which may affect your ability to fulfil the position(s) applied for may result in you being dis-entitled to claim compensation pursuant to the relevant workers compensation laws in respect of any further injury or illness, recurrence, exacerbation or aggravation of this injury, disease or condition.

 

By submitting a job application you consent to our collection, use and disclosure of your personal information as described below. Please read the following carefully before you apply for a vacancy with Housing Australia, click ‘Back’ if you wish to return to the jobs page.   

All personal information Housing Australia collects about you is collected, used and disclosed by us in accordance with Housing Australia's Privacy Policy. 

We will only use your information for the purpose of assessing your application for employment within Housing Australia in the role(s) for which you have applied and retain your information for consideration in respect of future employment opportunities within Housing Australia for 6 months. You will be asked to provide us with, or allow us access to, your personal information.

Such information may include your: 

  • full name, email address, telephone number, date of birth;  
  • psychometric assessment information (for example, personality and cognitive ability assessments);  
  • background check information (for example, criminal records, which is your sensitive information);  
  • qualifications and employment history, including the information you have provided to us in your resume and covering letter, any information contained in public social media profiles and any information provided to us by a former employer or a referee;  
  • identity information such as your passport and/or driver’s licence details, and residency status/eligibility to work;  
  • sensitive information including Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identity to support our diversity equity and inclusion programs, regulatory and reporting obligations; and 
  • information about your accessibility needs and/or adjustment requirements which may include your sensitive information.  

If your application is successful, this information will be transferred across to our HR information system.  

Housing Australia will also collect your personal information from other sources, including security vetting agencies, referees, third parties that provide identity checking services and educational institutions.  

Your personal information may be disclosed to:  

  • referees;  
  • Housing Australia staff members and contractors;  
  • the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA);  
  • the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission/Australian Federal Police (AFP) to complete a National Police Check; and 
  • Precise Background Services Pty Ltd as part of the pre-employment screening process. See Precise's Privacy Policy available on their website https://www.precisebackground.com/ 

in connection with processing your application.   

You may choose not to provide us with your personal information. However, if you choose not to provide us with the personal information, we may not be able to assess your job application and/or evaluate your candidacy for employment, and your application may be declined.
